Remembering Venice

Image

I have bought myself a gift:  It’s a book called “The Louvre, All the Paintings”.  I have had it open on my dining room table and when I walk past I stop and turn a few pages.  There’s a section of paintings by Canaletto, painted in the 1730’s, of Venice.  I’m freaking out because the buildings and landmarks are identical to my photos, taken in November of 2012.  Here’s one of my husband catching pigeons in the Piazza San Marco.

I’m missing my husband.

I was able to instant message him Sunday.  Today is a work day for them.  Praying for safety.

It is so cold here.  That arctic air has swirled its way back down here to Kansas.  I’ve turned up the furnace a bit, trying to keep my tootsies warm.

Had a fun day yesterday, a mini-road trip with my daughter.  Found a pair of $5 shoes. We also explored a second-hand store and tried on leather coats and other clothes.  I found a snakeskin purse I nearly bought, but talked myself out of it.

Only three more nights alone; I’m not counting Friday because they return at about 1:00 AM and I will be picking him up then.  When I get my hands on him, I’m not letting go.

  1. Love the pic. I know you are really missing your sweet dh. Praying for him (and ds) and all that Abba is doing through their willingness to obey and ‘go’. Also praying for safety and that the time ‘flies’ for you until y’all are together again.
So glad that you and dd got to go out for a while. Hooray for $5.00 shoes!! 😉
It was warm here for a few days–now getting a bid colder–high 50’s today and 40’s tomorrow–never dull with the weather.
    Hugs and prayers.
